Shamir Autograph progressives compared: InTouch UX, III D and Intelligence

Shamir Autograph progressives compared: InTouch UX, III D and Intelligence

Shamir Autograph is the Enhanced tier of Shamir's progressive range at Vision Express. Three lenses sit on our menu: Shamir Autograph InTouch UX in Silver, Shamir Autograph III D in Gold, and Shamir Autograph Intelligence in Platinum. Shamir lenses are made in Israel and take 7 to 9 days to arrive, so this is a lens you plan for, not one you collect the same afternoon.

The three lenses at a glance

  • Silver: Shamir Autograph InTouch UX. The lens we name for people who are new to progressives and want help with adaptation.
  • Gold: Shamir Autograph III D. The mid-band choice for readers who want a step up from Silver.
  • Platinum: Shamir Autograph Intelligence. The lens we name for the widest field for presbyopia after 40, and for desk work with dual monitors.

The menu does not rank these by comfort, only by band. What matters is how you use your eyes across a normal day.

Who Silver suits

If you have never worn progressives, Shamir Autograph InTouch UX is the lens our menu names for adaptation. New wearers often worry about the moment they look down a set of stairs or turn their head in a jeepney. A lens chosen with adaptation in mind does not remove the learning period, but it is the right place to start.

Who Gold suits

Shamir Autograph III D fits the reader who moves between reading, screens and distance through the day and has outgrown a Starter lens. The band sits between the other two, and the exam decides whether your prescription justifies it.

Who Platinum suits

Shamir Autograph Intelligence is the lens we point to when the intermediate distance matters as much as near and far. If you sit at a desk with two monitors for hours, that middle zone is where most of your day happens. Our menu names Shamir Autograph Intelligence, along with Essilor Varilux XR, for this reader.

Polarized, if you drive or ride

Every custom-made progressive in the Shamir Autograph range can be ordered polarized. That helps with glare off wet roads and windshields during a Metro Manila commute. It does not belong in every pair. A polarized finish is worth considering if most of your glare complaints come from driving or riding, and less so if you work mostly indoors.

Planning around 7 to 9 days

Because Shamir Autograph lenses are made to order, build the wait into your week. If your current glasses are still usable, keep wearing them until the new pair arrives. If they are not, ask the team about an Express Service lens as a temporary pair. Essilor Elements White 1.56, the progressive on the Express list, is ready in 1 to 2 days.

Autograph versus the Opulens starter range

Shamir also makes the Opulens progressives, which sit at the Starter tier of Silver and Gold. If the Autograph range is above your budget or your needs, ask about Shamir Opulens Basic or Shamir Opulens Apex Pro. The team can explain the difference in person.

What to do next

Book a Vision7 eye test at your nearest Vision Express store. The seven-step exam records your distance, near and binocular vision, which is the data a progressive lens is built from. Without it, the lens is a guess.

Ask for Shamir Autograph Intelligence at the counter. It gives you the widest zone our menu names for presbyopia and desk work. If you want an easier first step, ask for Shamir Autograph InTouch UX instead. Every Vision Express pair also comes with free lifetime ultrasonic cleaning, free lifetime custom fitting and adjustment, and a 1-year warranty.
