Nikon Seemax Infinite Z or Shamir Smart SV III As Worn: two Enhanced single vision lenses compared

Nikon Seemax Infinite Z or Shamir Smart SV III As Worn: two Enhanced single vision lenses compared

The Vision Express single vision menu has three tiers: Starter, Enhanced and Best. Two of the Enhanced lenses come from different countries and carry different strengths: Nikon Seemax Infinite Z from Japan and Shamir Smart SV III As Worn from Israel. If you are choosing between them, this guide covers the facts we can state and the questions to settle in your exam.

The basics side by side

  • Nikon Seemax Infinite Z: made in Japan, lead time 3 to 5 days.
  • Shamir Smart SV III As Worn: made in Israel, lead time 7 to 9 days.

Both sit in the Enhanced tier, one step above Starter and one below Best. Neither is in the Express in-stock range, so both are ordered for your prescription after the exam.

Who should look at Nikon Seemax Infinite Z

Nikon Seemax Infinite Z is the lens we point to when the complaint is night glare, halos around headlights and streetlamps, or discomfort driving after dark. Metro Manila at 8 pm is a good test: oncoming headlights, wet roads and neon signs all at once. No lens removes glare, and halos can also come from astigmatism, dry eyes or early lens changes in the eye, so your Vision7 exam comes first. The exam is how you learn whether a lens is the right tool for your complaint.

The shorter lead time of 3 to 5 days is also a practical reason to choose it if you need your glasses within a week.

Who should look at Shamir Smart SV III As Worn

The name "As Worn" refers to how Shamir designs the lens to account for the way a specific frame sits on your face. Where the frame sits, how it tilts and how far it is from your eye all change what you actually see, and an As Worn lens is built with that in mind. If you wear wrap-style frames, large frames, or frames that sit unusually, ask the team how this applies to your choice.

The lead time is longer at 7 to 9 days, so plan ahead if you are travelling or have an event coming.

The questions that decide it

  1. What is the main complaint? Night driving glare points toward the Nikon lens. A frame with a strong curve or tilt points toward a conversation about the Shamir lens.
  2. How soon do you need the pair? Three to five days versus seven to nine days is a real difference for some schedules.
  3. How strong is your prescription? Strong prescriptions may call for a different lens family altogether. Tokai BIR-W and HR-W exist for that situation, with 10 to 12 days lead time.
  4. Did your prescription just change? Shamir Opulens Exact is made to measurement and is built for that case.

What we cannot tell you from a page

We do not publish claims that one of these lenses is thinner, sharper or better than the other. Two lenses can look alike on paper and feel different on your face. The only fair test is your prescription, your frame and your own eyes. That is why the exam comes first and the lens choice second.

The Enhanced tier in context

Starter lenses cover the basics well. Best, the Tokai HR-W, is the top of the single vision menu. Enhanced sits in the middle, for people who want more tailoring than Starter without moving to the top. If you are unsure which tier you need, say what bothers you in daily life and let the optometrist narrow it down.

Book your Vision7 exam

Book a Vision7 eye test at your nearest Vision Express store. The seven-step exam gives the optometrist what is needed to match a lens to your complaint, not just your grade. Then ask for Nikon Seemax Infinite Z if night glare is the problem and you want your pair in 3 to 5 days, or Shamir Smart SV III As Worn if your frame is distinctive and you want a lens designed around how it sits. Every pair carries a 1-year warranty, free lifetime ultrasonic cleaning, and free lifetime custom fitting and adjustment.
